Special Projects
Each year, the Society allocates funding for Special Projects that align with its mission and strategic goals. These funds are not intended to support research projects but rather to enhance the SOBP community and actively engage members. Special Projects should focus on educational initiatives involving research skills and professional development, and on public outreach activities or events.
Eligibility
- Individual SOBP members or SOBP-designated committee/groups.
Application Process
- A completed application form must be submitted via the submissions portal by the specified deadline, which typically falls in the autumn of each year.
- Applications submitted by individual members must include the member(s) biosketch, while applications from SOBP-designated groups are exempt from this requirement.
Evaluation Process
- All applications will undergo an initial review by the Executive Committee at its next scheduled meeting. Subsequently,
- Applications from individual members will be assigned by the EC to the most appropriate committee for evaluation or further clarifications or development. The outcome will be communicated to the EC and supported proposal will be forwarded to Council for final approval.
- Applications submitted by SOBP-designated groups will be evaluated by the EC only. Proposals receiving support will be forwarded to Council for final approval.
- The outcome of the Council’s evaluation will be communicated to applicants in December of each year.
Post-award process
- Successful applicants will work with designated members of the Parthenon Management Group (PMG), who will provide logistical support (including expenses) as needed to facilitate project implementation.
- Organizers must submit the Project Evaluation Form and Participant Feedback within 30 days of the event's completion by email to sobp@sobp.org
