Types of Membership
The Society welcomes applications for three distinct membership categories, each designed to reflect the experience, contributions, and professional stage of prospective members in the field of biological psychiatry. All members, regardless of category, have access to cutting-edge research, leadership opportunities, and exclusive benefits that support career growth and engagement in the broader scientific community. All members are required to comply with the Society’s Code of Conduct.

All applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee. Notification of evaluation outcome will be sent directly to the email address listed in the application. All applications must include (a) A letter of support from an active SOBP member. Member information can be found in the membership directory or by contacting sobp@sobp.org for assistance; (b) A bio sketch using the template provided; (c) A letter of good academic standing for student applicants only.
Committee Vacancies
All active SOBP members are eligible to serve in the Society’s Committees. Interested members should submit their applications to sopb@sobp.org. Each application package should include (a) A personal statement (maximum 1 page) outlining the applicant’s motivation for applying and the skills, experience, or attributes relevant to the committee they wish to join; (b) A biosketch, formatted using the provided template.
